Hi! I'm Scott Forsythe, a Purdue Computer Engineering graduate working as a Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin
I have been working as a programmer for six years. I have experience in 8 programming languages and several operating systems and programs.
For nonprofit organizations, I developed an app and ebook that have been selected by the bicentennial commission to be part of a statewide celebration (Amazon.com download, Google Play download, iTunes download), I created a program for the Indiana State Government that enables the Legislature to better interact with and inform the public of bill status, I created several websites, I updated a website for the Science Central science museum to make it mobile friendly, I coded a document-hosting website for the American Library Association TAB, and I helped a state historic site select, repair and customize hardware and software, and recovered historic documents from their nonfunctional 11-year old computer.
I am also the founder of the Dyslexic Kids Support Organization, an organization providing information, resources, support groups, free tutoring and annual conferences for children and teens around the world who have dyslexia. I founded the organization in 2011; today there are over 15,000 members in 74 countries.
In my spare time, I enjoy programming, 3D modeling, mod creation, skiing, playing piano, biking, laser tag, sci-fi, researching, reading and writing.
This website is intended to be an online resume and curriculum vitae. If you would like to speak with me about an internship position in your organization, please contact me at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you!
- As a computer engineering intern at Lockheed Martin, I developed software for autonomous technology. This included both simulation and control software written in Python and C++ in the form of ROS nodes, independent scripts, and more. I also participated in research on Convolutional Neural Networks as part of a machine learning development program. I additionally engaged in sensor calibration and hardware fault diagnosis.
- As a software development intern for NASA Langley, I worked on software/algorithm development for the Earth Radiation Budget Instruments, including developing algorithms to analyze test data, using specialized tools and programming languages, building applications by collaborating with the engineering team to design and implement new features, and identifying techniques to optimize performance. The project deliverable is a fully developed graphical user interface (GUI) that will aid in analyzing large data sets for the Earth radiation budget instrument calibration campaigns.
